SUMMIT, NJ — A unique weekend educational program introducing students to the Turkish language and culture is now open to the public at Bank Street Centre in downtown Summit, New Jersey.

The program, located in Suite 3 at Bank Street Centre, offers weekly language clinics designed to introduce students to conversational Turkish while exploring the rich history, culture, and traditions of Turkey.

Originally created to serve children from Turkish-speaking families, the program is now welcoming students from all backgrounds who are interested in learning a new language and gaining exposure to a fascinating and influential world culture.

“Learning a less commonly taught language can be an exciting advantage for students interested in global studies, international relations, or distinctive academic experiences,” said the program’s instructor. “Turkish connects Europe and Asia and opens a window into an important region of the world.”

Turkish is spoken by more than 80 million people worldwide.

Turkish is also considered one of the more approachable languages for students to begin learning. The language is written almost exactly as it is pronounced, its grammar follows consistent rules with few irregular exceptions, and nouns do not have grammatical gender. Turkish builds meaning by adding logical suffixes to root words, making the structure of the language clear and systematic once students learn the basics.

To introduce the program to the community, the instructor is offering a complimentary introductory session for new students, allowing families to experience the language clinic before enrolling.

The weekend sessions are designed to be engaging and accessible for students who want to explore language, culture, and history through interactive learning.

Classes are held at Bank Street Centre, located in downtown Summit, New Jersey, just one block from the Summit Train Station.

Parents interested in the complimentary introductory session or learning more about the program can contact the instructor for additional information. Please call 908-463-5687.
